sort of....

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/delta...os-leaked.html

According to Delta blog, the first improved 763ER is flying ATL to MAN tonight with rotations mostly out of JFK to most of Europe plus SEA to PKG and KIX.

Looks great! The next 763 for mods starts this weekend, the 3rd August 14 and there should be 7 completed mods by the end of the year.

There's 58 total 767-300ERs (ref. http://www.delta.com/about_delta/cor...ircraft_fleet/). So, at a pace of a bout 7 mods per 1/2 a year, it will take 4 years to refresh the whole 767-300ER fleet, i.e. they all won't be done until mid-2015.

So, likely no comfortable seat on my 767-300ER flight next year still. I booked it, overcoming my natural aversion to DL's 767-300s, thinking that may be, just may, by then it may have the new cabin. But, alas, that looks highly unlikely.

The completion goal is still by the end of 2013. Probably after the holiday season, DL will begin to ramp up the mods through January and February of 2012.

I sure hope so.

The new 767-400 BE seats are superior to the 777 lie-flats (that are horribly unergonomically designed and very uncomfortable to sleep in, IMHO).

Once the 767-300ERs are done then my (and I think many others') preferences will change from avoid DL 767s at all costs to try to fly on DL 767s whenever possible.
