Using Upgrade certificates

I purchased BC to China and was upgraded using miles on an M fare. Then I made PM and received Upgrade certificates. Will delta let me re-deposit my miles and use a certificate instead?

Yes, IF upgrade bucket (Z) availability is still available on your itinerary. Check this first!

If upgrade inventory is no longer available, redepositing your miles will NOT cause an upgrade seat to become available.

What is your itinerary?

I'm not convinced DL likes doing this as they complained the first time I hit PM and redeposited miles to use SWUs despite Z availability. I don't remember what it was like trying to keep the reserved seat.

Depends on the agent you get... but yes it can be done. I'm assuming you haven't flown on the trip yet though. They most likely won't let you do that after the fact.
Also, was the ticket reissued yet and your miles actually pulled? Its easier if that hasn't been done as well, since they only have to change the info in the pnr for processing the upgrade from miles to the SWU.

I did on LAX to Singapore/Hong Kong to LAX last year. No problem at all. Certificates were applied and miles were redeposited. At the time I was PM.

If the agent you get says, "No," call back and talk to a different agent.

Doesn't matter if they like it; you're entitled to do it assuming Z is still available.
