Multiple flights - Same day and Baggage Question
I apologize if I posted this in the wrong area. For an upcoming trip I'm taking vacation and then directly flying to DC for business. I originally booked my vacation prepaid and put both of our tickets on my Reserve card. Something came up at work and I'll now need to fly from my vacation destination to DC. My original flight that my companion will still be on leaves at 4:30 mine now leaves at 1:30.
I would like to give her my checked bag to take back home on the 4:30 flight. Can I check in for both the 1:30 and 4:30 flights and check my bag for her to pick up after the 4:30 flight lands at home? Will there be any red flags that I never boarded but my bag went back home? Will there be any red flags that I am checked in for 2 flights out of the same airport?
Thanks!

You cannot check a bag for a flight you have no intention of taking. Well, you can check the bag, but it will be offloaded prior to departure when you are a no-show at boarding. If you really want the bag to go home, just have your partner check it along with hers.
