"Tower errors run high at MSP"

Front page article in todays Star Tribune. Unfortunately, only available to "Premium" subscribers.

http://www.startribune.com/premium/1...1&c=y#continue

Gist of it is that errors at MSP exceeded the busier airports of LAX, DTW, DEN and PHX from 2007 to 2010.

Also more errors than LGA, BOS and DCA "where air traffic is considered harder to manage."

No clear explanation for the increased errors, although there is speculation on runway placement (parallels closer together than norm) or increased reporting.

Strib got data from the FAA after filing an FOIA. Not sure this kind of reporting is helpful, as it raises questions (anxieties?) without any answers. Not likely Twin Citizens will go elsewhere to fly, but may impact connectors who have a choice of hub.
