My wife and I both got upgraded at our windows (PLAT/GOLD) for a 7PM DCA-ATL flight on Friday. I guess the business travelers are getting out of town early. We flew the same flight on the Friday before Memorial Day and I got mine at the window and she got hers at the gate by waiting it out while people head of her on the list boarded.
My U/Gs also cleared for DEN-CVG-DCA on the 4th and hopefully the the wife will clear tomorrow. Her res is linked to her father, who will be traveling with us. It's my understanding that since they're in different PNRs she doesn't process at the 24-hr window like him. My first time setting up a companion upgrade like this, so I guess we'll find out. Both flights look real good. Still waiting for an U/G on my ATL-DEN flight this Friday. DL.com shows only 4 FC seats for sale, so probably no V inventory. I've been batting pretty good lately, even though I often fly out of DCA on Friday evenings. |

Someone answered the window part for you, but figured I'd let you know, upgrades have nothing to do with F/P/A... that is relative to seats for sale and doesn't correlate with upgrade availability. Upgrades come out of X or V.

I didn't have any problem clearing for my MSP-PHX flight on July 1st. Pretty excited to get back to the USA as I have been in the Middle East since December 29th, so this was a nice treat to come home to.

still waiting to clear for tomorrow. Y is sold out but tons of FC seats. suppose they are holding the 9 FC seats for last minute buys? i love battlefield upgrades. :p

There's always the brute-force method to find V inventory:
1) Go to dl.com 2) Make sure you're logged in 3) Advanced Search for full Y fares 4) # of passengers = 1 5) Review results. "Upgrade Available"? V>=1. "Upgrade Eligible"? V=0 6) Repeat search with n+1 passengers until "Available" changes to "Eligible", n-1 = V |

It is for me. My wife and I are both PM and we typically choose SWU for perks. We fly TPAC and TATL twice a year and use EF to search for Z availability before we buy the tickets. Always the best way to go. :cool:
