That is a no brainer. And, such a good son you are. ;)

To be entirely fair, it is fairly common to do this (I have seen it more often than not, even on YVR/LON/NYC/SFO-HKG flights, arriving HKG early Monday morning!)

C:

No problem about your cocktail. 6:30am is 5 o'clock in Hong Kong.

Ahhh I like how you think. This is why I come to the Delta forum!

It's not a cocktail ... it's an eye-opener, a perfectly acceptable morning beverage.

How long before we get a Tsk, Tsk, Tsk post? ;)

As they say, the sun is over the yardarm somewhere.

I bit on my first FCM offer today. Flying DCA-ATL-ABQ (stay)-SLC-ORD (stay)-LGA-DCA over a week in April. The base ticket in coach was $1257 for the times I needed.
When I went to reserve the seats the FCM offer was $245 for the entire 6 flight trip. That seemed to me to be worth it so I bought it. Ticket was reissued with all flights in G, A and P so should earn the 50% MQD bonus as well.
Call me a sucker?
I've got another similar flight the next week DCA-FLL-MCI-DCA but the FCM offer for that one is $538 on a base fare $651. Not buying that one yet.

50% MQM bonus, MQD is what it is.

Right, I knew that but mistyped.
Thanks.

I don't think you're a sucker at all, you paid a 20% markup on a coach fare for First with some fairly lengthy flights in there. It certainly passes my "Must be under a dollar a minute" test. I'd have taken the same offer.

Now the second one I think would be a sucker purchase.

Nothing wrong with having a breakfast cocktail. And she's your mother, so she'll still love you even if she is disappointed in you :D

You can't make this stuff up...

I booked a RT from PHL to western Canada.

I noted that the difference in price between coach and FC was $345 RT, all in, for my itinerary. Not a compelling offer.

I immediately went to the seat selection page, knowing that the computer would not have assigned me any of the C+ seats that I am eligible for, and should be automatically assigned to, but wouldn't be (and, yes, I was correct in my prediction).

Reaching the seat selection page about a minute after finalizing the original purchase, I am greeted by an offer for RT FC buy-up of $258, all in. A reduction of 25% in just about a minute.

It really is like bargaining in a 3rd world bazaar... except you don't have all the background noise. Just walk away and see what RM will offer to lure you back.

I would say that is a compelling offer. Stoping in DTW or MSP on the way? With a 3 (Calgary) 4+ Vancouver flight in front of you?

-ok

$345 is a lot less compelling than $258.

I wonder what the offer at check-in would be?
