Unfortunately for those that used the system as it was designed, people like EZE didn't. The gamers punish the legitimate by playing games. Often the easiest way for us to handle the games is to just close the loop completely.

Tell me again where Delta states what the system was designed for, and how you're not supposed to use it?

I have not seen any mention of qualifying reasons for doing a SDC, only that you can and that it is free of charge for elites (D/P/G). You may not be happy with people applying the concept differently than you, but they are just as entitled to using it as you are.

....wait until you see the next SDC move.

still amazes me that people actually think the DL product in F is worth $150-200 dollars, especially Medallion members who already get most benefits.

And I really like how annoyed you are I.get to board with you as a DM.

The value of money is only relevant to the spender. Also, sorry to disappoint you but no one cares when you board ;)

more accurately, "only relevant"

I really am thinking the whole upgrade "pecking order" is based more on ticket price paid and not so much status.

Since Delta is calculating MQD per segment for posting to our SkyMiles account, it would certainly seem like an appropriate way for them to prioritize upgrades as well instead of by fare classes.

I could see them ranking within a medallion group by price paid and that would supersede the fare class. If the rankings are across medallion levels, the program would be dead.

Bought a $550 RDU-SJC r/t so I had this silly hope of a decent FCM offer. $583 for the round trip...no thanks

Can't believe I just paid for first....

PM, just booked a trip to New Orleans for a conference in two weeks.

EWR - DTW - MSY and MSY - ATL - EWR on way back.

Due to the times I wanted to be back, economy was $496. Booked it. Got the FCM upgrade offer for....

$78.

Well worth it I think, especially for the extra MQM, and don't I get more SDC flexibility?

yes ... and in many cases that's well worth it

Today I went to buy two RDU-JFK tickets to take my Mother to the theater. Coach was $110, First was $159. At $49 each, how could I say no?

My policy is, if it's under a dollar a minute, I'll go for it. Especially as I need the MQDs.

jrl767 Mar 15, 2015 5:24 pm

even though I'm almost half way to the AmEx waiver, I can't argue with that logic
