Baggage issues in TUL
I fly AA metal myself but out of convience for her, flew my niece from Michigan to TUL last week. Waited in baggage claim area 40 minutes...no bags were coming. Went and found airport CS person (no DL baggage assistance available) who said DL was frequently understaffed in TUL. CS said it was typical for DL to grab skycaps and ground personnel to come unload baggage from planes. Total wait was about 50 minutes for bags to get to claim area.
A sign of the problem was that we arranged for the escort service for the different flights, niece was 14 (went well by the way) and the escort service person in TUL according to my niece was the same guy she saw out her window guiding the plane in to the gate on the ground. Maybe this is typical but seemed kind of strange.

Has happened to me before in TUL as well. Additional wait time was triggered by a malfunction in the belt, which was not fixed for 30 minutes. Not a soul from DL anywhere, so I called the 800 number to complain though admittedly there was little they could do. I'm not sure what you would do if your luggage didn't arrive and you were on one of the last flights of the night coming into TUL.
xx
