Hangover 2 movie errors

So I was happy to see DL advertising itself in the movie

But then they are flying in a 4 engine widebody (?747) but sitting in 3-3 coach like a narrowbody (would have been perfect time to showase the lie flat 777lr seats...) and then the Plane has only 2 engines.... 777 or 757 or 767??? I don't know

Stupid , u'd think if u r paying money for product placement ud be more careful... And their flight number was 2xxx

Lol begin flaming me

I was wondering when someone was going to bring this up on FT. I noticed the inconsistencies as well.

I noticed the same thing. On a (very quick) glimpse, I would guess it was a 738, but I didn't get a long enough, focused look to say for sure (damn popcorn)! It definitely wasn't a 757.

I noticed as well.

Takeoff was definitely 747.

The interior shots were a 767. 2-3-2 seating in economy.

The landing shot was an A330. I thought 777 at first, but the rear gear was 2 wheels deep, not three.

I made the same comments to the person I saw it with, much to their annoyance.

The airport they were walking in, it looked like DTW instantly (considering that they were going to BKK.)

I noticed the flight number was 2781...very odd, I don't think I've seen any TATL/PAC flight >1000

During the flight it looked like it was a 744 or a 777 config. I could be wrong though. It was also obvious that there were PTVs which are non-existent on a 744.

For the touchdown it was a 764 or a 777. The plane didn't have winglets. I was watching closely. It was likely just put in there and wasn't recorded specifically for the movie.

It really would've been good to advertise the 77L seats.

I haven't seen the movie yet (loved the first one) but this thread has me (a scientist, natch) wondering:

Are we FTers (or a large subset of us) suffering from an illness? A compulsion? Does this behavior lead to derangements in relationships and marriages? (It must at least result in raised eyebrows in mixed company) Is being hyper-vigilant and detail-obsessed a good thing or will it result in a shorter life span?

In any event, good work!!

HA, you all are dorks, (so am I) I mentioned it as well, my gf replied the same way as everyones elses significant others.

You have to admit the music was good and the shot of the 747 flying directly at you was pretty sweet.

aubreyfromwheaton May 29, 2011 6:34 am

It was fast but I think it was 3-3 seating. The main problem for me was 4 engines going to 2, and them sitting in Y

The majority of the people can't tell the difference between different planes, not at first glance anyway, so the product placement in this case is just the Delta name I think.

I saw the movie last night and I laughed my butt off. Kind of predictable after the first one, but still a very good movie with a lot of laughs. Also, glad to see Billy Joel getting some love in the movie with his song on the plane.

Whew! I am glad that I am not the only one with this "sickness." I still watch the show "Amazing Race," and on EVERY episode they do this "bait and switch" with airliners. A team will board, and we get the interior and exterior view of a 747. Then, the producers will show them taking off in 757 and landing in a A320. Ugh. It drives me crazy. Why am I so ill? I need help, please!

You're right - that plane didn't have winglets, so maybe it was a 777. I thought 777 at first but looked at the gear immediately and thought I only saw two sets of wheels. It seemed a bit too big to be a 767. I think I recall the ship number on the front gear doors being visible, but I didn't write it down. Maybe if someone's going to see it they could get it?
