This is about my 4th trip in First Class within the past month where we were served Cereal for breakfast.

Problem is---I can't drink Milk and I stay away from anything with Sugar in it.

I finally asked the attendant---why cereal lately. She informed me that lately, they have stopped serving a warm meal for breakfast.

Wow! If this isn't a blatant cost cut in service I don't know what is.

Just another decrease in Delta's FC service. It's happening more and more. The PDB thing is also increasing. Really, how long till DL just eliminates FC and goes the LCC route. It's almost there now.

Yea....since they are adding more FC seats they are going to remove FC??? No doubt the FC service isn't like it used to be but that is across the board for domestic US carriers. I'm pretty certain this is a direct response to the "I want my free Upgrade on my $200 ticket" crowd. If nobody is paying for F and the FC cabin is being filled by free upgrades, what is the reason that DL would want to spend extra money to provide a better meal service? Until people actually start paying for F, there will be nothing special about domestic F.....as many here know, it is very much just an upgrade class but beats coach anyday of the week (wider seat, only 2x2 or 1x2, free drinks, snacks, light meals, priority boarding, etc.)

I actually like the cereal option. It's lighter than eggs with breakfast meat and there is still plenty of other options on the tray like a mini bagel and a cup of fruit. It would be nice if they could have a couple varieties of cereal though.

I was offered the inedible omelet just 2 weeks ago. Honestly it is the worst airline food I have ever had.

However, if you have food allergies why wouldn't you bring on food? Come to think of it as bad as that hot breakfast is why wouldn't you bring on food.

This complaint comes up periodically. So I decided that I must be wrong and the hot breakfast has improved. I tried it. Still inedible

How long was the flight? Cold meals, whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner, are typically served on mid-con (900 to 1,500 mile) flights.

FINNALY somebody who agrees with me on the omelets. That thing is just horrible. I thought maybe it was just a bad inning so I tried it a few times but confirmed my first thought: Inedible. The middle is barley cooked and coagulated and the texture is just bad.

On DL 303 MCO-SLC FC right now, had a great omelet as well. There was a cereal option.

I haven't had an omelet in FC in a while - I think the last one I had was some sort of cheese and apple omelet a couple of years ago. It was not very good.

In the early 2000s I flew LAX-HNL on the morning departure. The provided Y meal was an omelet which was actually very good. I still remember it as one of the better airline meals - oh how the times have changed.

i was on that flight yesterday and had the omelet as well. The OP must be on a shorter domestic flight. MCO-SLC is just over 1900 miles IIRC.

Note to OP: You need to provide more information, like routing and equipment. As others have noted, 900-1,500 miles is cold breakfast (i.e. cereal) only. If your flight was mainline in that range or DL Connection of any length, cold is all you get. You think this is AA?

Under 1500 miles Delta only offers a cold meal in First Class. Maybe it is just me, but even on flights greater than 1500 miles I prefer the cereal entree. If you are that concerned about what you are having, why don't you bring your own food with you or order a "diabetic" meal if you are concerned about the amount of sugar you eat. There is still the milk issue, but you do not have to put milk in the cereal. Also, the eggs you would get with the hot meal usually have cheese and that is made with :gasp: milk

Besides, Ruth's doesn't serve breakfast. We could go there for dinner...
