Need help

I had a flight from MKE to LAS scheduled and Delta decided to change my flight on the way home essentially pre-bumping me from my original flight. I called Delta to inquire and they booked me on a new flight that leaves LAS Saturday afternoon instead of the original one that as a red eye taking off at 12:20am Saturday. This change is forcing me to spend another night in LAS as well as extend my car rental and the additional meals that I will incure. Is there anything I can do to get Delta to compensate me for my assitional expenses?

No, but you can ask to be put on an earlier flight without charge. Earlier as in earlier than your original flight.

I believe you're entitled to a full refund if you want it, under such drastic changes. If you posted the date, it's possible we could be of more help in terms of suggesting other flights to ask them to put you on.

Call back and request the flight that you want. Alternatively, you may be able to use Delta.com to change your itinerary to the flights you want.

This is bizarre, because they're still selling seats on that flight. In any case, there's a redeye to MSP that leaves at 0100 that there are seats on.

Looks like there was a schedule change on the CVG-MKE flight (4079) from a 9:25AM departure to a 11:10AM departure. You could probably get your original flights back, but you'd have a 4+ hour layover in CVG. The 4+ hour layover is probably what triggered the re-route through MSP. There are a number options that are more closely timed to your original flights.

There's an 11:55PM red-eye flight (2216) to DTW on 29Apr that you can connect to flight 2356 to MKE on 30Apr. This will get you into MKE at 8:58AM on 30Apr. I'd ask for those flights. You are entitled to a free change or a full refund (however, DL will not pay for your hotel room, car rental, etc. should you choose to keep your current flights).
