Any changes to 767 flatbeds?

When the flatbed seats were first introduced on the 764s, there was some criticism on the design. If I remember correctly main focus was on the spring-loaded table as well as the narrowness in bed mode. I think there was even a thread saying that DL executives weren't happy with some of the details and wanted changes to be made before additional installments.

So far, I only had the flatbeds on one flight (ATL-LHR) and some of the criticism was certainly justified. Now that additional 764s are receiving lie-flat seats and 763s will soon follow, I'm wondering if any changes were made. Has anybody flown on the new versions?

One difference I noticed on a 764 flight in Jan 2011 is that there is now a diagram etched into the metal of the tabletop showing the procedure to stow the table - how to align the table pivot point for stowing, etc.

I do NOT recall such a diagram when flying the new 764 seats a year or so ago.

Following the instructions in the diagram, I thought stowing the table was pretty easy. The original no instructions version was certainly more of a challenge.

Sometime soon I hope to fly the new version so I can form my own opinion. I am no fan of the old version.

Ugh, that table was so frustrating on my last MAD-JFK.

Last I heard (October) they were still testing the new tray table set-up. Very different as it pulls up and out vs. the spring loaded pop system now.

The table was really not that difficult. The instructions now pretty much make it idiot proof.

In terms of resources, DL has better places to spend time/money than fixing these tray tables.
