Should I plan on SDCing or do something else?
I am running a marathon in April and am getting ready to buy my ticket to go there. Here is the situation:
It will be really tight for me to finish the race and get to the airport to leave on the flight I am planning on coming back on, but there is a later flight I could make no problem. However, that flight costs $250 more. Should I risk using the SDC to try and make it on that flight (last one of the day) - it leaves 3 1/2 hours after the cheaper one? Or should I play it safe and book my return to a different airport (1 hour away from home)? Thanks!

SDC to last flight of the day can be risky due to the possibility of it being full. Then, you're at the grace of the agents at whatever airport you're leaving from. This is particularly true in your situation where you can't yet process the SDC at the departure time of your booked flight.
My advice? Train harder, run faster, make the earlier flight

I would love to, but it is really just a training run for me (and coming the morning after a hard 5k race), so it will probably have to stay around 3:40. Who knows, maybe!Shower? Aren't the sinks on the planes big enough?

Thanks for the advice you guys, I will fly into Buffalo instead.
