How is it that...

There was not enough time on a 4 hour flight from DTW to LAS to finish a 2 hour movie? Also no pre-flight beverages and the FA in First looked like she just rolled out of bed. Another thing, I think that once a FA gets so big that they cannot walk down the aisle in F without hitting the people on both sides with their rear end simultaneously, it's time to switch gigs to a GA or something.

Not seeing the movie is better off than sitting on the ground and watching the first movie in it's entirety before you take-off ~ that's when you know your day sucks.

Oh, and like the above, IN B4 da LOCK.

I think you have a good list of possible song topics, Vegasmusician!

Is 4h the actual flight time? You also have to account for the take off and landing. AF is the only airline that I know that leaves the AVOD on even throughout the take off, landing and taxi.

Always wondered about this and perhaps someone can help me. Why not leave AVOD on the entire flight? I'd thought this was about safety, but if AF is doing it, it couldn't be. This would help numb passengers during tarmac time, at the very least.

Yeah, we were in the air for 4 hours. They didn't start the movie until 2.5 hours into the flight and let it go all the way through landing. Movie didn't finish and I didn't hear the last 15 minutes of what was played of the movie because apparently my Bose headphones would cause a crash landing, so I was made to shut them off and stow them.

SK does this as well on their A330s, which also have a camera somewhere near the nose of the plane. Pretty cool for take-off and landings. Now if you could combine that with UA's Channel 9, that would be plane-geek nirvana.

I've been very curious about this myself. I've been going back and forth between ATL and SNA almost weekly since October, mostly flights have been direct (737-700).

The flight crew has always left the AVOD on until after we've landed, sometimes right until we've pulled into the gate (once, after we parked). This week, they announced that we were on final approach and they turned it off. I thought this was very strange as we were still in the air for a good bit of time.

I always thought it was just a way to get us to focus on getting on / off the plane rather than try to catch the last 5 minutes of a movie.

"Wait, no... this is the good part!"

"Sir, we have to cater the plane for the next flight..."

That happened to us yesterday on DL 245 (JFK-LAX). I would've been happy to trade scenes with the OP.
