Examples of SkyMiles Award Tickets costing more than the posted fare?

In trying to book an inter-European sojourn on the website I found that the price of an Award Ticket between Dusseldorf and Ljubljana for March 26 to 29 ($286.60 + 25,000 miles) is higher than the price if I simply buy the thing directly from Air France ($222.31) and earn a few more miles in the process. Surely this is not the only or most egregious example of this, right?

Like batdude said... are you sure that includes taxes?

Example 2: CDG-SVO
DL.com: 25,000 miles + $169.54 taxes/fees
AF.com: $405 + $169.47 taxes/fees

Example 2: CDG-BUD
DL.com: 25,000 miles + $147.40 taxes/fees
AF.com: $67 + $147.68 taxes/fees

Yes, it does! The base fare for those days is $8 each way.

So an extra $80... could be a Delta fee. Even with $206 dollars in taxes and fees if you go by what is on the AF.com site... 25k miles for a $16 fare might qualify as the worst redemption rate in DL history: $0.00064/mile.
