EOY MQM Question
With the end of the year coming up quickly, I know i'll do much more traveling soon and would like to continue to have my silver status (and hope i break into gold)
Current Membership Level: Silver Medallion
Medallion® Qualification Miles (year to date): 23,915
incl. Medallion® Qualification Miles (rolled over): 2,878
Medallion® Qualification Segments (year to date): 11
Do rolled over MQM account with this years MQM? I know the threshold is 25k for Silver.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm not exactly sure I understand what you're asking. In order to roll ANY miles over to 2011, first you have to hit 25K this year, then anything over 25K will roll over to next year.
As far as purchasing something to get 2K MQM's, I don't think it's cheap, and as tomorrow is Dec 31, whatever activity you may do to get the MQM's, they may not post til after Jan 1.
A quote from DL.com:
" . . . . any MQMs earned above your Medallion qualification level at the end of the year will automatically roll over to your MQM balance for status qualification the following year. Whether you roll over 500 miles or one million, there’s no limit."

Can you fly somewhere tomorrow?
If you do not earn that 1,085 MQM tomorrow, your MQMs will reset to zero on 1/1/11. Your FO status will last to 2/28/11; after that you will no longer have status until you have earned 25,000 MQM again.

OP, as others has stated, you will need to do all of your traveling tomorrow in order to qualify for Silver in 2011. Otherwise, you're MQMs from this year will go to waste. Keep in mind that all your last segment must schedule to depart before 11:59PM tomorrow for it work. If it's delayed, you're fine, as long as your original departure time is before then.
Good luck!

Purchase or post?
Just curious, for I am a bit short of an AMEX threshold for 10K MQM: Which is the relevant thing, that the purchase be done by today, Dec 31, or that the purchase is posted (with AMEX) by today, Dec 31?

If you make purchases today, they will post to your Amex account with today's date and count toward 2010 spending, even though the transaction won't settle on your account view online for a few days. If you cross the spending threshold with spending today, the MQM boost will post as 2010 MQMs when your next Amex statement closes.

Thanks ATL 787. I am no longer sure who is right: One AMEX agent stated what you have stated, but another two have told me that the charge must be purchased and posted by today, Dec 31. So a purchase in the 2010 calendar year that posts in 2011 will count towards 2011, not 2010.

Prepaying some bills is an easy way to bring some 2011 spending into 2010 if needed (I've prepaid cable, cell phone, and gas bills before....allowed me to upgrade to GM prior to an ATL-ICN-CEB trip last year, when I would have otherwise been FO for the first part of that trip).
