American Eagle codeshares

Flying out of SBA on an AA codeshare to LA - will my PM status re: baggage be honored?

Anyone know? Saw an old thread on the former DL flyertalk board, but nothing since.

Correct, operating carrier fees/rules apply.

Sometimes I fly SBA-LAX on full Y, and I don't get charged then.

With SLC-SBA being dropped, soon the AE flights will be the only way to get Delta miles flying into SBA.

Website is clear as mud on this issue, but am I surprised? It says to refer to codeshare partners, AA not listed, then I look at Connection partners, not listed . . . .

SLC-SBA is being dropped? Can you point me to this announcement? I used this flight a lot (and is always packed) as the LAX connections in the evening don't mesh well with DL. Can't even buy them on the DL.com

The flight SLC-SBA was appearing two weeks ago, and is now gone (looking for Christmas). Been trying to get any flight to SBA, and on the outbound the only thing scheduled is early am. Anyone have any idea if there are any flights on dl.com that leave in the afternoon? I fly NYC-SBA many times a year. Not having an afternoon or evening departure would really suck.

Short answer is - yes you will have to pay per the published rules. However - many times, the AE agents can waive the fees for DL codeshares...but it all depends on the agent.

You can still fly Horizon to SBA and get Delta miles.

I fly out of FAT and end up on the MQ code share to LAX a lot. The only time MQ has waived the baggage fee was for intl flights. The other times I have paid the $25 and then used the on-line customer service contact form to complain and have received $25 voucher.

The thing I found interesting is that many times DL is paying MQ all of $10 for the flight. I'm sure MQ enjoys tacking on the $25 baggage fee.

Thanks. I didn't like the long RJ flight, but the connections with AE from LAX never seemed to work, schedule-wise, with late afternoon JFK departures. DL didn't sell them. And looking at schedules on random days, there is no code-share LAX-SBA in the early evening, just in the am hours. At least there's a SBA-LAX-JFK codeshare in the am. Only way to buy a ticket for the times I use would be Expedia and the like.

There's no doubt that Delta picks and chooses the MQ flights they buy seats on. They used to always have seats on the last LAX-FAT flight of the day and that quit about 6 months ago.

The MQ code shares are a topic I intend to raise at the ATLDO meeting with the Delta executive types. My casual observations of the LAX end of the flights leads me to figure that about 50% of passengers the FAT-LAX MQ flights are transferring to DL. My suggestion is that DL convert the FAT-LAX market to OO flights (much like they did with LAX-SAN).
