So the concept is that one "meet and greet' person will wait for all DMs on a given flight? I would welcome this service at places like LHR where one can wait for Immigration for almost an hour, but I have never found there to be major issues or delays when coming back to the USA.

I was on the Friday flight not the Thursday...although both arrived early and got to sit waiting for a gate.

On my connection to BOS we ended up closing the door and sitting at the gate for over 90 min before push back. Gotta love JFK operations. While waiting in the takeoff taxi line we almost hit the time limit for having to go back to the gate for the 3hr rule.

Oh well... thought I'd give JFK one more shot because of this program. Now I know better for next time to avoid JFK operations entirely.

Had the 'Meet and Greet" service yesterday arriving mid-afternoon from Berlin to T4. The service was GREAT; however, I didn't get to fully display a DYKWIA attitude because there were only maybe 25-50 people in line ahead of where I would have been without the service.

[QUOTE=Moz;14320209]Landed at JFK yesterday from MXP and was met at the ramp by a Delta agent (alongside 1 other DM) and escorted fast track style through customs and immigration. I was told by the very kind agent that this is a new service that they are trying out for DM at JFK and if successful they will extend,,,

It was possible to offer this service at this time, but when arrive 50 top tier pax together you cannot expect the same service.
However I am sure you appreciated the fast track, which is welcome in USA as immigration is worse every time and I would not be surprised if the next time they took off your underwear too!!!
In Europe you never see those lines, but wish EU made extensive searches with photos and checking laptops for overseas visitors, as US does for us

Did not get met returning from DUB last month since the preclearance over there removes the need for any assistance. All we needed to do was walk out the door handing in the customs slip.

I'll be going to DUB next month and your post raises a question. Does preclearance mean you don't have to pick up your checked luggage and it goes right onto the connecting flight?

I don't think so. The preclearance was only for Immigration and you still would need to clear customs with your bags and then hand them in at the station right outside the door. Then you would need to reclear security to pick up you connection.

Then do you just walk past the immigration guys or is there a special route you take that drops you directly into international baggage claim?

You just walk on through on the side of the booths and go directly to luggage claim, or in our case since we were carrying on, directly to the customs guys at the door.

Got the service yesterday, the agent tell me that he is a registered user of FT.
Nice to meet him.

Actually he tell me that they are studying a way to have always (as possible) the same agent.

Well done DL!

(thanks Paul)

New pilot program for JFK international arrival passengers

Hello all:

I recently took an international trip and came back to the US via JFK. I am diamond medallion and when I came out of the plane a Delta representative was holding a sign with my name. My first thought was - did some thing go wrong with my itinerary. I was a bit jet lagged and actually thought of passing by the rep but I decided to say hello.

The rep said, "welcome", and explained that a new pilot program started at JFK for international passengers where they will escort me through the connection process (immigration and rechecking bags) at JFK.

The rep escorted me straight though immigration by taking me right up to the immigration counter (yes, I got to skip all the other tired people on the line) after which the rep stayed with me till I got my bag and escorted me to recheck the bags.

The rep told me this has only been started at JFK airport. I forgot to ask if this was a diamond member privilege (?)

If there is already an earlier thread on this I don't mind if it is merged with the other thread or even deleted. Don't want to clutter the forum.
