Missing dinner/missing voucher
DTW-PDX June 18. Seated in FC, dinner expected. After a longish wait at DTW FA announces that due to caterer problems no dinner for us or several other flights. Seems they have been having troubles with this new caterer.
During the flight we were offered a choice between bonus Skymiles or a credit voucher. I chose the latter and received a card so stating and marked Apologies.
Obviously this card is not itself a credit voucher, so on 6/28 I emailed Delta and eventually received a reply saying they couldn't find anything about this, please mail in the card. Simultaneously received a phone call asking me to call customer service. When I called they had no idea why they called me.
Missing a dinner is hardly the end of the world. But how valid is their claim about a new caterer? At least at DTW? What experience do others have about DL actually following thorough on an offer of a credit voucher?
