Potential Misconnect Options

Wife is currently on a LAX-ATL flight arriving in ATL approx. 31 minutes after her connecting and last flight to HSV departs. Looking at the HSV departure, it appears to be on time, and don't know Delta's policy for holding flights for connecting passengers, if they even have one.

The website prompts you to click for alternate flight arrangements....but there is none.

Trying to do my due diligence before she arrives at 1123pm in Atl, so I can advise her accordingly. I do know the incoming flight to LAX that turned back for her flight to ATL was 1.5 hours late. Do not know if that was weather or mechanical.

Was looking at tomorrows schedules from ATL-HSV just in case she doesn't make it, to be protected on a flight, and if you can believe out of 10 flights ATL-HSV.....only a 440PM departure show seats for sale on Delta.com.

I also looked at BHM (would drive and pick her up), but it didnt have any flights available until 1900 or so tomorrow. The only thing I found on the website available, was a 1050am flight to BNA. CHA was exactly the same as well. Hard to believe all these flights are full....

Again, just trying to get my ducks in a row so to speak......she isn't going to be a happy camper........also compounded by the fact, she turns around Sunday afternoon to go back out to LAX.

Any suggestions. These flights seem packed....or is Delta holding these seats?

I have about 2 hours to come up with something reasonable for her.

Thanks

With heavy travel loads compounded by the weather in ATL today, I would say its safe to assume that those flights will be full. Standing by for those flights won't be a bad idea however, because some people may choose to drive or they make their original flight so those seats may reopen.

My other suggestion is to keep checking the atl-hsv flight. If she is on the CRJ-900 (the last flight of the night, nothing seems like its going in or out of ATL on time whatsoever. My guess is that ASA or Pinnacle haven't updated their info yet, which isn't uncommon. So I would expect her to at least have a fighting chance to make that flight.

Currently, DL 4320 is still showing on time. Operated by Pinnacle. Ship 9197.

6 seats open on that flight.

Thanks everyone.

She is currently booked on the Pinnacle CR9. Hopefully it will wait for the connecting passengers. She also has a co-worker traveling on the same flight, and perhaps some other HSV bound folks.....maybe enough to justify holding the Pinnacle flight. But it still says ON TIME.

Dlbeno.....got your PM.....and appreciate the help......I think if she doesn't get her original connection, I will have a tough time telling her not to rent a car in ATL and drive 4 hours. (against my better judgement). She needs to get home, so she can leave again on Sunday......

I did talk with DL reservation.....and it certainly appears she is in good company.....lots of displaced folks. We will find out shortly.....as I type, the Pinnacle flight has begun boarding and her LAX-ATL flight is 39 minutes away.........keeping fingers crossed.

also just noticed tomorrow morning dl 5071 (atl-hsv) has 5 seats avail. So maybe she will be protected on that flight in the am.

Edited to update: Well, she missed the last flight......but I called DL reservations, and got her on the first flight out in the am to HSV. Lucky considering todays conditions, and the impacts to flights tomorrow. Her co-worker doesn't have a seat yet......hopefully that will get resolved at the airport.
