Two tickets, same flight. Need advice
My wife and I have a return flight in J from Europe that is ending is MSP after layover ORD. Our final destination is SAN but in order to book a magic low-tier award we ended the flight in MSP. We booked a one-way ORD-SAN to get us home much sooner planning to skip the final ORD-MSP award segment. However Delta switched my itinerary and now we are on the same flight ORD-MSP in R and ORD-MSP-SAN in T.
What is going to happen when we show up at ORD for the Flight? Any suggestions?

Just check in for both reservations and enjoy the extra seat. But R is first and T is coach. Just check in by confirmation number for whichever one you want. F with no mileage accrual or T with possible upgrade at gate and mileage accrual. The other reservation will be a "no show." There are sometimes more than one person on a flight with the same name.

Is there still an ORD-SAN direct that works for your arrival time from Europe? Since they changed you from direct to connecting, you can change that flight however you like... including getting a refund and booking on the MSP-SAN flight you got changed to and getting that after your ORD-MSP connection.
