Recognizing Change in Status

When I flew NWA previously, as I moved from Silver to Gold or Gold to Platinum I would have to contact them to update any future flights I had booked with the new status otherwise, the ticket would only recognize my status as what it was at the time of booking. I'm about to move from Silver to Gold with Delta and I'm wondering if the same situation exists with them? I fly weekly and usually have 5-6 flights booked out into the future.

Thanks!

For each itinerary you will have to remove/ de-select the SM Number and then re-enter the number for the system to recognize your updated status.
That is the way I found to be useful in getting an itinerary to show and updated SM status.
Hope this helps.

SkyMilesInsider is on record as saying this old programming defect has been overcome.

I went from GM to PM in December 09, making the transition to plat on an outbound trip SEA-AMS-CDG. Well before my return ten days later my account showed me as platinum, as did my boarding passes for the return trip. The SEA-AMS RT segments were on NW but my mileage account had converted to SkyMiles by then, so I don't know which system made it all happen by that time.

My understanding is that the system does some some of global update in the wee hours of Sunday morning. I moved from GM to PM during the midst of a stay in San Diego. In as a GM, out as a PM, complete with upgrade and status printed on the BP. Don't know about "forcing" an interim status change. Maybe SMI can enlighten us.

It worked for me. I went from FO to GM last month as soon as the miles that put me over 50k posted on Delta.com (happened mid-week). My updated status was immediately shown in my future itineraries without my having to do anything and I was upgraded at the GM window for those flights.
