Confusing.....
Just tried to use my SWU for trip from Reno/SFO to Addis. First Diamond agent says "no problem, I have seats and will book it for you right now." What's the fare? $3240....a good deal in my opinion! 15 minutes later, agent says "my computer keeps freezing up each time I am working on this"...I'll transfer you to another agent who can do the booking.
Surprise, surprise, I get dumped back into the queue for Diamond line. New agent says "I can't find the flights"....new cost to use SWU is $4600+. Needless to say, I don't understand what happened; agent can't explain and isn't really going to find a different flight, regardless of routing (and I offer many) without the upgraded costs.
Hard for me to understand since I can buy a Delta business class seat out of Reno into alternative destination and then a second business class on Egypt Air for less than Delta wants for M fare with SWU....
Go Figure.
