A couple of months ago, the agent at the LHR Star Alliance lounge wouldn't let me in with my US Airways Platinum card, claiming that I had to be Gold. She literally would not budge, and of course, this being England, did not speak English well enough to even understand the word "Platinum".

Finally, I remembered that CO had just switched to Star Alliance and pulled out my CO Gold card, which worked fine.

As per the list of SkyClub Partner clubs that you can get into... for Milan, it only lists the Air France club, not the Alitalia lounge.

FWIW, the AF lounge at MXP is usually quieter. The AZ people normally will suggest going there for precisely that reason.
Yup, but if you are not flying from the Schengen departures terminal, it's awfully far away (and with a passport control line in the middle)
