Complementary Bump to Diamond

Please forgive me if I am repeating a thread (though I have tried and have not been able to find it!)... I left 2009 with 124605 MQMs. For 2010, I am a PM.

Clearly, there is contingent out there that would be quite happy with my scenario (PM for 2010 and an easy PM for 2011), but I am kinda hurt that Delta did not offer me a complementary "bump" to DM.

So, my question is, "did anyone get a complementary bump to Diamond?"

FWIW, I am in the CVG market and I would have done an easy mileage run if I had had the time, but did not (have the time).

Why would DL offer a "bump" to Diamond at all, especially in the first year of the program? The posted milestones were available early in the planning year if you wanted it. If you wanted it, you should have made the mileage run.

Personally, I highly doubt that anyone, except those that were already part of the EP program, received "complimentary" DM status.

I think you'll find many people in this forum, with some exceptions, of course, would say that they'd rather have a 49,605 mile head start on the new year vs starting from zilch.

If I had to do it again, I would roll over 49k miles, get to PM soon, get the PM awards and then get to DM and get the DM choices.

I don't think the OP was suggesting he/she should get both the bump AND the rollover, but...

I have a colleague who did. Ended with 74,300 MQMs. Got bumped to PM AND rolled over 24,300 miles. I was jealous!

I was suggesting a zero mileage rollover (if I were bumped.) It never occurred to me that folks might have been bumped AND kept their rollover.

No reason that DL should have bumped you up. The rules were clear. I am very glad that I had over 40K rollover MQM's coming into 2010.

With so many ways to have earned <500 MQM's, I think DL will tell you to pound sand. They'll probably think you were one of the many DM conscientious objectors who intentionally shopped short of DM and are now regretting it for some reason.

I was as close as you and called to ask if there would be bumps

I called in the middle of Dec and was told "No bumps, you have to get the miles or segments". I threw in a late in the year trip and made it. I would imagine that is what they were hoping folks would do.
