Yes you can cancel within 24 hours. Give them a call and they should be able to take care of it.

DL says you can cancel within 24 hours but from my experience do not live up to that policy. Try calling. You may talk to an agent, a supervisor and a manager and they will all say, "sorry, but the computer says that it can not be cancelled - there's nothing we can do," despite the policy that states to the contrary on delta.com.

Good luck. You're going to need it.

I must have been born lucky, they cancelled my flights with no penalty.

1st e-mail a reply after a few days. Any changes made too the tickets will be $150 each.

E-mailed them back asking about the 24 hr cancellation policy.

Received an answer 2 days later apoligizing for the "mishandeling" of my first request and giving me a full credit for the both tickets.

My fate in the system has been restored and thanks for your suggestions.

Really? I cancel flights under that policy all the time and have never once had a problem. Every now and then I have to call in, but it's never a problem.

I think the policy is that you have until midnight the day after the day the ticket was booked. So you get anywhere from 24-48 hours.

"Tickets/Cancellation:
Cancellation request must be made by midnight of the day after the eTicket is purchased or midnight of the departure date of the first flight, whichever comes first. Available only for eTickets purchased at the time of reservation through Delta ticket offices and airport ticket counters, Reservation Sales, or at delta.com."

from: http://www.delta.com/traveling_check...tion/index.jsp

Note: Applies to paid tickets, but not award tickets. I know this point has been an issue. Also, the text doesn't specify a timezone, so if it's really ET or local time at flight departure point, or whatever, it should state so.

WOW. You must be really bored, or have too much time on your hands.

Hope you figured all this out in your own time and not on your company's time.
