Yes, FA will give you hot towel all F class passengers only.

"Hot towels" seem to be the norm for most First Class meal service now - something we didn't have on Northwest - but it does seem odd to receive a hot towel before my bowl of Cheerios. :eek:

Delta has alot of challenges, but compared to the SWU issue the fact that you do not have a hot breakfast option on a regional jet seems trivial at best!

Do you really seek out the FC upgrade for the airline food, hot or cold? C'mon.

I was being facetious.

I have received the hot towels before... about 1 time out of 10 when there is a meal service.

Was hoping to start a "my troubles are worse than yours" joke.

"I was given a hot towel."
"You got a hot towel? We were given towels but they were cold and only slightly damp."
"You think that is bad? We were only given pre-moistened wipes."

You are correct about the SWU being more important, however....

The breakfast is cold on just about any jet if <1500 miles, not just CRJ900 and EMB planes. AND this is something that has had a negative change for many travelers, especially former NW flyers, who almost always were offered a hot breakfast on most morning flights.

Another "Best in Class" improvement, in the name of aligning service, all because many DL planes did not have ovens.

Well said! Don't pee on my back and tell me it's raining...:mad: Also just as a point of clarification, there was no hot towel on the CRJ (not that I care), but was on the 757. I guess the scolding towel service is only available on the big planes.

Maybe for you. I could care less about the SWU whinning. I don't need, or use, them. I miss the omlet. A hot meal really helps me and the omlet was pretty good.

Some other observations about meal service on DL/NW during the past few months

This past weekend I flew a NW CRJ-900 from DFW to MSP (852 miles) in the morning, which is less than 900 miles; surprisingly, F cabin got breakfast service with a warm bagel. Is this route an exception in terms of meal service (like ATL-JFK/LGA)? Also the milk was from Texas, which indicated the meal was probably loaded in DFW.

In November when flying ATL-BOS (947 miles)leaving at 9:50AM, a single choice of lunch was served in F, which surprised a lot of people including the FA herself.

In September when flying HLN-MSP (913miles) leaving at 8:30AM, the breakfast served in F included cereal with milk, a banana and a prepacked muffin (the one they serve in coach class during pre-arrival meal service on USA-AMS flights). The milk was from the state of Washington, which indicates it was probably loaded in HLN.

Back in June when flying MSP-ABQ (981 miles) during lunch time, we actually got a choice of salad or hot sandwich, which confused the FA as well as us.

In August 2008 when I flew NW on DEN-MSP (680 miles) in the morning, they actually served an express version of breakfast in F (cereal with milk and a banana). I guess this is due to competition on that route. Do they still do that?

Finally, I am wondering whether NW will make exceptions to MSP-SEA route in terms of full meal service, as this is one of their most important domestic routes. Does anyone have any experience for dinner service?

FC upgrades are so pointless now, I actually decline them on OLCI when I probably have a good chance of getting BF upgrade if I have Row 5 on the Airbus or the exit row on the DC-9 in the mornings. Give me 5A/5F and I'll be out like a rock with more legroom than the folks in F.

In the p.m., the only advantage of F is the free drinks. Depending on how the week is going, I may need them.

A bit off topic - but let me say that if you wind up taking a flight that is incorrectly catered, it is in your best interest (if you are a miles collector) to send a nicely worded email, letting them know of the problem.

I try to avoid being one of the NW whiners, but in this case, I will say that NW did have a better meal product in FC than DL. The IFE On DL is much appreciated, but would nicely complemented with NW's meal service. Guess you can't have your cake and eat it too on DL.

True that; a bagel and Cheerios does not equal an omlette and sausage. Oh, and while I'm at it, can we get something besides the turkey sandwich and Asian salad??
