Is Delta Substituting the 752 for the 764 on some LHR MSP Flights

Flying NW753/DL753 later this month, and just wanted to check its punctuality on flightaware.

http://flightaware.com/live/flight/DAL753/history

I then spotted that they are using the 752 for some of the flights. Not really the same advertised inflight service?

Anyone have any knowledge of this happening later this month?

Thanks

It appears to be a bug with FlightAware. The flight status on nwa.com shows 764, and if you look at the tracking map while the flight is in the air, the radar blip shows B764 as the aircraft type even though the page says B752.

757-200 tatl

The DL 757-200 TATL aircraft used for Atlantic journeys are former TWA a/c and don't have the range to make the MSP-LHR route.

That was my assumption to. But according to DL, the range of the 757-200ER is 4,722 miles (7,599 km) while MSP-LHR is 4015 mi (6461 km).

It can certainly do it...AMS to DTW at 3920 miles GC distance has been operated by NW752 as well as 330 for several years. CO operates TXL-EWR at slightly more, with 752.

And LHR-MSP involves less windage. Relax and enjoy the 57 on that niiiice loooong ride....

As others have said, most likely a bug with flightaware. However, I have been on a 757 from CVG-LGW and the difference in mileage between CVG-LGW and MSP-LHR is <40 miles, so I am assuming a 757 could make that trip.

I'm not saying you would want to be on that flight though, its a long time to spend on a narrow-body jet.

All DL/NW flights to LHR are operated by 764's--regardless of the departure city.

LHR is supposed to be a premium route. That seems to be the standard no matter what airline you're on. If they were to sub a 752 I would assume they would use a the NW752 which has a much nicer J cabin.
