I am looking at cruises and came upon some people selling what they claim to be coupons for Carnival cruises where you can buy a 5 day or longer cruise and your roommate goes free. Anyone else ever done anything with this and can say if it is legit or not?

You need to read all the conditions of those coupons. Usually they are only valid at a specific travel agency, who is charging for the first ticket about double what you can get from other places, so in the end you are saving very little money, if any. Port charges, taxes, fuel surcharges, etc can all be extra too.

Before you spend any real money on it make sure you understand what the total cost of the cruise will be for you, don't assume it will be half the price you see elsewhere, as it probably won't, it will be much higher.

There are legitimate deals out there too, I am not saying that all of the two for one deals are scams, but some of them are. You just need to know what the final price and conditions are.
