take the train. the train station is a five minute walk from the cruise termnal. We went from the terminal to the Vatican and the train stopped a block from the Vatican. I think it runs every 20-30 minutes

Awww 8Dimsum we will be leaving as you board in IST. We are however staying on in IST for 4 nights.

We sail on Crystal v 1318 from VCE to IST Sept 7-19.

Had some of Life's hiccups--Have kept the September cruise on the books! Looking forward to our stay in Istanbul prior to the cruise. -- Oceania is also starting a cruise on the 19th from IST. (Now it makes sense why rooms are booking up in IST.)

The ship stops in Split, Croatia where we are leaving the ship early to visit my parents' home town and relatives for the first time.

Found FC award flights to and from too. ^
