We are going on a 16 day transatlantic in October. We start out very port intensive and then 2 days at sea with a stop at the Azores and then 5 days at sea to HAL's private island, then Ft. Lauderdale. We really enjoyed our days at sea - soooo relaxing but you can fill it with activites if you want.

We are going to the Carribean on our next cruise in November and I picked it (from amongst all the MANY options) primarily due to the fact that it started with 2 sea days! On our first cruise, I was afraid of what I might do with 2 sea days....now I can imagine a Transatlantic.
