Carnival Fascination
I am going on a cruise in the middle of November on the Fascination out of Miami. I am not familiar with cruises at all and truthfully I am not looking forwarded to going on this boat. My family is making/paying for me to go. Anybody have any experience with this boat? I was wondering if you could offer me any recommendations or comments about it.
Thanks!

Carnival's 3 and 4 day cruises on the Fantasy-class vessels tend to have very active nightlife. There are several nightspots midship on the Promenade Deck. The piano bar is always a lot of fun, forward on the Atlantic Deck. Karaeoke takes place in the smaller theater at the stern on the Promenade Deck.
I just took a cruise on one of Fascination's sister ships, the Inspiration. it's an older ship, with fewer amenities than the newest megaliners, but there's still plenty to do. Fascination underwent a major refit in 2006 so she should be in pretty good shape. They added a minature golf course in that refit, I know for sure.

Here is a link to my review of Inspiration. As far as the ship itself goes, they are pretty much identical.

SRQ Guy, thank you very much for the information. I read your review and it seems like you had a great time. I was having doubts about Carnival but since I have read your review along with several others on cruisecritic.com, I don't think it will be half bad.
Thanks, again!

Carnival gets a bad rap. The cruise experience is pretty much equal to that of RCCL minus the rock climbing wall and ice rink on RCCL's newest ships. The funny thing is that many fans of each line are almost like religious zealots and will swear that their line of choice is far better than the other.
