Guys

Thanks a million for your help - all input is gratefully appreciated by us both. The reason we travel in September is because it coincides with both our wedding anniversary & my birthday & I know it's not the best time of the year to visit Florida because of the hurricane risk, but it suits us far better than May!

Our preferred ports would be (in order)
Tampa, Port Canaveral, Fort Lauderdale & Miami

We've seen some good RCCL cruises ex. TPA & PCL. Celebrity & Holland America don't really seem to have anything suitable. Disney isn't a runner (I did 2 Disney Bahamas cruises years ago & don't really want to go again as I reckon we'll be all "Mickey'd out" after our stay in Orlando

7 nights is the max duration for us as we want to spend 5 days in Orlando - 12 night trip in total, and the route isn't that important to us

Am I making even more sense now?

Personally, I really like RCL cruises, although I haven't been on Celebrity and Holland America. If I remember correctly, most cruises from Tampa will be to the Western Caribbean (Mexico, Belize, etc.), and I don't think there are/were that many during September though. MIA will probably give you the most options, and PCL the next most.

Do you have an idea of where you'd like to visit?

The reason Tampa and Port Canaveral tend to have cheaper cruises is because they are both non-union ports. So this is good advice to shop the ports for pricing. If you want a personalized, excellent travel agent then PM me. I live down here and this travel agent is based out of Texas. I am not shilling for myself or a friend. This Travel Agent is well-respected and was recently recommended by Fodor in the book "The Complete Guide to Caribbean Cruises" (Page 51) see: http://www.fodors.com/shop/buy/?isbn=1-4000-1576-6

IMHO, accountability and reputation is better with a sole, real person rather than contacting a mega-agency and taking the luck of the draw. Good luck !
