Cunard-QM2-VSOE transfer

Anyone done the Venice Simpson Orient Express transfer for Southhampton to Victoria (or vice versa) as part of your QM2 cruise??

Am booked in August.

Have one major question .. the on-line material talks about an 'elegant dinner onboard' and that most gentlemen prefer to dine formally (in tux).

You leave the ship in the morning, tour around the area, have lunch at an estate, tour some more, then board the train for dinner and the trip to London.

WHEN do you change?
WHERE do you store your elegant dinner clothes during the day??

I'm assuming the ship takes your luggage right through to Victoria for you to collect there .. so would a garment bag be required for the 'afternoon change'?

Answering my own question since no one here had the answer! I called Cunard today.

You depart the ship in 'touring' clothes. Your luggage is removed per normal and forwarded onto the train to meet you in London.

Passengers are sugest to take a garment bag containing their dinner clothes when departing the ship. These will be stored on the tour coach until the transfer to the train. The train lounge are has applicable changing rooms for guests to change from touring clothes to dinner clothes.

I hope you will write a trip report and let us know how your trip went. Sounds wonderful.
