Azamara Hosted VCM

I am considering 12 Night Fjords & Iceland Voyage on the Azamara Journey in July in a veranda cabin. It says it is a "hosted VCM". It won't let me price a rate that is not "hosted VCM." I will of course call Azamara and ask them but I will not have phone access for a week so I'm hoping someone can explain to me exactly what "Hosted VCM" means/gives me and why I can't book a non-hosted rate. Vacationstogo has the cruise for about $2700pp less and does not say that it is "hosted". I will post this on Cruise Critic as well but I'm looking forward to anyone's (travel agent?) detailed explanation from here. Thanks.
