Princess Cruise Credit

I received a $300 credit with Princess and, while it expires at the end of the year, it can be used for travel beyond that if it is booked before expiry. I was told by a Princess agent that I can't use a TA to book because they can't access the credit before it expires if the travel is more than 60 days out. Does anyone know if that is true?

You can make the booking on your own and then have it transferred to your preferred TA shortly afterwards; won't lose out on any TA benefits. ^

Thanks. I did read up on that but thought what the rep said might interfere with it. This would be my second cruise ever so don't know a lot.

It is my experience that Princess CSRs cannot be trusted: Either incompetent or liars. Be careful.

In my experience, any credit on Princess can be accessed by any travel agent.

In my experience that is correct. Any credits loaded onto a clients accounts can be seen by travel agents.

Most cruise line call center reps are small hourly wage from a call center or working from home. When I call reps working for a Carnival brand, it doesnt surprise me anymore to hear kids and/or pets in the background while talking to someone.

With a cruise booking before year end, if you book it directly you will probably not be able to transfer it to a travel agent as most cruises now are in final payment and will require full payment at booking.

Once a cruise is paid in full, it cannot be transferred to an agency.
