How long to get approved for PremierPass Elite Card?

I've spent an insane amount of time reading this forum since I stumbled onto it...it's worse than crack .

So after reading the TYP Devaluation thread, I've decided to apply for the PPE card, since I want to use fixed-point redemption.

If I apply today, assuming my application is complete, does it take for me to use my TYP to redeem a fixed redemption ticket?

Spoke to several CSRs and managers at both TYP and PPE applications, but they all seem to give conflicting info. So far it seems:

7-10 days to approval application. No more instant online approval?

Once approved, can I immediately call TYP network and book a ticket? Or do I need to have the card physically in my hands?

You need to know your TYP account number for the new card first, and then merge it with your other TYP accounts before you become eligible for fixed redemption. This should take probably 2 weeks unless you get the CSR to give you the account # over the phone.

I'll note that I had bad luck trying to get anyone to help me merge TY accounts over the phone, on either the Citibank or TY end of things.

Had to wait a couple days after my first statement printed (with charges) to do the consolidation.
