I think the accolades card is good if your getting it for free anyhow. The only thing I wish it had was the two free guests on the priority pass.

I guess reading the first couple of post in this thread was too hard for you so I will tell you.

Deposit $100K with BOA get annual fee waived on Accolades Card. Deposit $200K with BOA get plus benifits unlocked. After you have meet atleast 1 of the above 2 requirements call 1-866-745-6882 to apply over the phone as there is no way to apply online for this card as they will verify you have the required assets before they take the application for your card.

I went back and reread the entire first page of posts. I don't see where it talks about any plus benefits. I maybe over looking it or it may be in one of the numerous links to other exhaustive threads. I am trying to determine if this card is worth putting a 100k into bofa. Can you tell me what the plus benefits are that would warrant 200k of my money?

See that post
"Enhanced Travel and Fraud Protection Benefits" are the plus benifits you get if you meet the $200K requirement.

Article based on interview with Paige Brockmann, Credit and Banking Product Executive with Bank of America, who explains some of the thinking behind Accolades:

"This is a client-managed channel," says Brockmann, "meaning clients deal with an individual at the bank instead of going into the banking center or calling an 800 number. Individual client managers offer the Accolades card to clients as part of a demand we make of ourselves, that we will work with individual clients to craft solutions...."

"Quite honestly, the base Accolades benefits are compelling, but theyre pretty similar to whats already out there in the marketplace," says Brockmann . "Its our extra layer of benefits that clients tell us are unique and different....The extra layer of benefits includes enhanced identity theft protection with identity fraud expense coverage and the Priority Pass program that proffers access to more than 500 airport lounges across the world. The cards Charity Matching benefit allows cardholders to convert 250,000 points to $2,500 cash for donation to any 501(c)(3) charitable cause. Even better, Bank of America matches the donation. Its a particularly compelling benefit for cardholders who earn points towards rewards that they can already afford.

I think it's telling that Bank of America considers Priority Pass a point of differentiation when it's a "me too" feature.

Is the 100K requirement a one-time thing, or a minimum/average balance that I must maintain over the year to get fee waived?

Too bad that BOfA does not have a high-yield online savings account like HSBC and Citi. I have to move the money out to an online savings account to earn interest after getting the card.

I guess 5.71% APY on balances over $50k in savings account is too low for you? As BOA have been marketing "My expression banking" on there main web page for the last 4 months. Click on My expression Banking then click on Defenders of Wildlife and then pick 2 second savings account called" Cash Maximizer"

They look at you average balance for the fee waiver I was told.

Click "More Savings Options" to read 2 of 2
Click "Rates & Fees" tab
Click More

This table was displayed...

Very Cool. I am in Hawaii, it is called "money market savings" instead of the "cash maximizer".

I do not have a BofA branch here. Can I do free ACH transfers from/to a local checking account to/from BofA?

If I do not have $200K, can I pay extra to get the Priority Pass?

Aloha!

I just called the phone number from an earlier post to apply, and it's $295/year, but if you're a BofA Premier, Family Wealth or Private Banking client they will credit the annual fee.

I confirmed with the rep that it did include the 4 companion domestic tix. Did not find out what company the program is through, but I imagine the same company as Amex Plat.

She said 24-48hrs for approval.
