If I change my strategy, I can always re-apply and get the bonus miles that comes with the SPG card.

I have young kids, therefore I like the trip interruption coverage offered by the Citi AA - I used this benefit once and I am a true believer. Between my flights on AA and the miles from the Marriott Rewards packages, I get enough AA points. Since I stay at Marriott (thus the MR Visa) and am/will/maybe move to a cash back card, the SPG Amex is no longer viable.
