Talking Rounding-off Quirks ??

Was double-checking a reward card statement & noticed an odd 'round-off' behavior -- $x.50 rounds down / $x.51 rounds up. New Math?

Happened to be an MBNA Visa -- sneaky bastages -- but, no doubt it happens everywhere...

Lots of $x.52 charges at the gas pump now! Turn-about's fair play, no?
Good stories, anyone?

I cant imagine its even worth your time to mess around with such a small and insignificant number. Are you really gonna stop the pump at .51 to net less than a 1/2 mile per transaction.

Follow my logic: If you do this 40 times a month you net 20 miles

20/month x in just 1,250 months (104 years)you'll get that free trip to Des Moines, IA you were always looking for.

Seriously its not even worth provoking a thought.
