"Pooling" points or miles
Hello all,
My husband & I currently have a AMX Gold Rewards Plus card that we use -- if they take it, we use it. We travel for leisure and always together, so we usually have about the same number of miles in our FF accounts w/ the various airlines, mostly AA, DL & CO. We fly whichever airline is cheapest, but try to stay with those three whenever possible.
We like MR because it seems to be the only way of earning points/miles where we can "pool" our points in one account and then t/f however many miles we need to "top-off" our respective FF accounts. [Also, we tend to have much more of our spending on my card than my husband's ] MR works great for DL & CO, but does anybody know of a similar way to do the same for AA? I noticed that the Starwood card partners with AA, but when I called them they said that the points could only be transferred into the primary cardholder's FF account (Citibank AA MC has the same policy). I suppose we could get a card in his name for a year, then my name for a year, and so on, but that plays havoc with a credit rating.
Are there any other cards or programs that let you pool your points the way MR does? I've searched through the forums but have not found an answer.
Thanks,
sequin
