Foreign currency surcharge?!
This is not a FF card, but considering I'm planning to go to Europe this summer, it's certainly very much related to travel... My Shell Mastercard from Chase (which gives 1% back on Shell gasoline--I use it once in a while instead of miles-giving cards) just sent an "Important Change in Terms Notice" that states,
"...The adjustment factor that is part of the currency conversion rate is one percent, but may be changed from time to time by MasterCard International or Visa International. For each transaction in a foreign currency, we will charge a foreign transaction fee of two percent (2%) of the converted transaction amount. This fee may be abbreviated as "For.Tran.Fee."
Is this as ridiculous and outrageous as it looks? Is this just Chase, or is it spreading onto other MasterCards/Visas, adding "yet another thing to look for" when choosing which card to use abroad? Argh....

Sasha I see in a Diners Club post, that DC charges this 2% For Trans Fee. So perhaps this is a growing concern...
I know that *not* all VISA issuers (currently) charge this fee.
