SkyMiles Visa
Four years ago Delta Airlines teamed up with American Express to offer a co-branded credit card. This year Delta is launching a VISA credit card version of its SkyMiles program. The first, new, Delta/VISA card will be issued by Asahi Card Company in Japan. Delta says it will launch a series of international SkyMiles VISA credit cards this year from various issuers around the world. The Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express will continue to be available in the U.S. market. The Delta SkyMiles Asahi VISA card will be a yen-based revolving credit card, available in both the Classic VISA and Gold VISA level. The card will also feature Japanese-language statements and other in-country cardholder services. For more information visit http//www.delta-air.com

Not so much a Goliath foot, as it is, I am sure, prohibitted by a contractual provision in the deal between AMEX and Delta. I am sure that AMEX would have insisted on exclusivity as a co-branded credit card in order to do the deal.

Does any program have co-branded AMEX and Visa/MC's available in the same markets? I think the answer is no ...
