Can name and SSN be interchanged on applications?
I recently applied for some cards for my wife and I have a feeling I might have by accident put my name and her SSN on one application that was instantly approved. Hesitant to call the card company and ask which SSN was used, but if it was indeed interchanged would an application be approved? The card has my name.

Can you tell if the issuer pulled your credit report or hers? If not, I would wait until the account appears on one of your credit reports. If it is on the wrong report you can sort it out then.

If it is a business card it won't appear on either credit report. She can sort it out whenever she likes.

I signed up for online access and was told to enter the last 4 of the SSN. Entered mine and it worked. Just out of curiosity, what would have happened if I did swap names and SSNs? For many years I have had the fear of doing this when I apply for cards for wife and myself and finally it almost happened.

Thanks for the tip. Looks like I have an inquiry. I put her name as business name and her security word.
Never seen this issue before. As my daughter says when I'm doing things too quickly: Slow down Papa.
