MCC - Merchant Code Category - for RewardGateway?

MCC - Merchant Code Category - for RewardGateway?

RewardGateway is a shopping portal similar to eBates (Rakuten 🤮 )and others, offered through employers...and one of the opportunities are InstaCards, which would be like Flux where you purchase a gift card prior to purchase at a discount for participating retailers.

Hunting and hunting to get the MCC ~ anyone here might know?
LMK if there is a more appropriate forum for post.

Would you have a link for the MCC checker by chance?

The way to check MCC is to perform a test transaction then call the card provider who should have that information.

What would 8999 equate to (ie department store?)

Seeing Amusement and Entertainment, Professional Services, Testing Laboratories (not Medical) and Membership Organizations....

https://www.visa.com/supplierlocator...pplier-locator

Website may not be totally accurate, and harder for online merchants.

For B&M, should be easier. Put the zip code & Macy's,
Industry/MCCDEPARTMENT STORES - 5311

Various PDFs provide mapping from 4-digit number to verbose name.

If you're looking to how a credit card treats the 4digit (eg is 8999 part of travel category for bonus?) hard to find this information

Thank you. Looks like, for the most part, Professional Services-Not Elsewhere Classified is the general direction and so highest yield card (a 2% on everything) is about as far as that would go.
