Synchrony Marvel Mastercard Verification
Got the Marvel card during recent app spree about 2 weeks ago, and tried using the Marvel card today, but it declined.
Attempted to access online account, but it directed me to call in.
Checked automated, and it did NOT state the account was closed. I was directed to fraud dept, and they stated a "verification packet" was sent out, and to follow the instructions listed there.
I can see how they may have concern as an app spree can appear like a fraudster opening as many accounts as possible. At least that's what I'm telling myself.
Anyone else go through "verification" from Synchrony? If so, what does the "verification packet" contain or demand?
Wondering if this is an identity verification, financial verification, or both.
I'm trying to be as proactive as possible and get documents in order for fastest turnaround, but the Synchrony fraud dept rep wasn't helpful at all.
Any insight would be helpful.

IMO, it will be a financial verification.
When issuers pull your credit, they obtain most of your personal information as well. If the card, if approved, is sent to the address on the credit report, which is not updated recently, there is a low risk for identity thief.
So it has to be a financial verification.
