Not sure if anyone has posted this plain looking card. This is a legacy National City product (not the current PNC CashBuilder card). This one only pays 0.5% cash back, and PNC will not do a product conversion. If it weren't one of my oldest cards, I'd get rid of it.

This isn't exactly about ugliness, and it's actually about a charge card, not a credit card.

Back when I was in the military, One of my friends said that she could get through the gate (meaning onto the military base) by being in uniform and vaguely waving her AMEX Green, which in those days did look quite a bit like military ID. It may well be an apocryphal story - after all, she was a JAG.

I typically borrow my wife's cards when we need to hit a minimum spend... on the odd occasion where the chip doesn't work and I need to sign a slip, I just sign scribbles that resemble her signature and no one has ever called me out on it.

The fact that I'm bearing the card of someone with a woman's name never really gives anyone pause... as long as the signature looks right, it's fine! ;)

Earn rewards: $1 spent = 1 Point = 1c reward
Spent points on Telus purchases .
For those who do not know Telus is national cellphone provider in Canada.
Card totally useless as any cashback card beats it and you are not tight up to
Telus.

Except for the clashing red box in the upper left, it doesn't look half bad to me. Red Eyed Tree Frog man!

Wouldn't consider this to be ugly (more like cute), but Japan does issue credit cards with anime characters:

I guess if you're an anime otaku, you must want these. :D

Ha, cool designs. ^
It reminds me of the time I wanted to put a simple geometric outline of a cartoon spider on my Cap One Plat card, they denied the design. I had it cropped correctly, format was right. =|

I think the frog is cute!

It's not a credit card but the back of the Capital One 360 debit card looks fairly garish. I think it's because of the color/font they're using for the card number and other info combined with the red background.

It's because of the magstripe more than people not checking signatures. Note that signatures aren't even required for small amounts.

All the new Citi cards feel like a super-cheap piece of plastic and their looks not so good.

I will not say they are ugly.

But seriously, why Wells Fargo still have to use stagecoach again, again, and again...

Beauty as they say is in the eye of the beholder. My WF card looks different from the pics you posted - but has the stage coach. IMO the version I have is the best looking card I have by far.... But-it sucks from a rewards standpoint so only use a a few times a year.
