Adding a new ATT line = Hard pull?

Not sure of the best forum for this... sorry.
Does ATT do a hard pull if I add a second line to an existing account?

Thanks for your time

I don't think so. I added a line 6/2013 and I'm sure it was just the soft pull variety.

AT&T only does a hard pull when you open a new account. I have added several lines and haven't incurred a hard pull yet.

Why in the world did you all give AT&T your SSN?

To get postpaid service. A lot of times AT&T just uses payment history as the qualifier for new line deposits. I've added lines and haven't received hard or soft pulls.

Adding a new ATT line = Hard pull?

I was out through the ringer (pun) with ATT. Online order rejected. Came to store with Id. Then connected to offsite verification where I failed to answer questions properly. Then asked for two IDs. I think I got a hard pull and and jerked.

Curious if there's a current "add an AT&T line, get lots of points" offer through a CC or FF program. I plan to add a line (or 2) this summer, and I figure there must be a great offer to get XXXX points in addition to charging the monthly bill to my Chase CC for bonus points.

TIA

Maybe. Maybe not.

1. Verification questions are common. They don't automatically associate with hard pull.

2. AFAIK - all carriers have established a credit system for new/existing postpaid customers. After your initial HP, you will be approved up to certain lines. As soon as you don't exceed the maximum, there will be no HP for adding lines.
