Datapoints:
There is a $90 AF and one cannot earn the 90K in one year unless one does $25K spending.
Best way to add to initial purchase bonus of 20K is to add AUs (and quite a few of them, too!).

There does not seem to be any language in this application limiting those who will qualify for the bonus. Anybody have a thought about applying while currently having the card?

What is the rule on churning this account? I'm sorry but I can't follow all the abbreviations here. I had this card, but then closed it out on October 6, 2017, i.e., over 2 years ago. Am i (probably) OK?

Yes you are. But BoA has a 3/7 new accounts in the last 12 month (?) rule so if you are fine there no problem

Thanks for the quick reply. but I don't know what these abbreviations mean, sorry. What is a "3/7 new accounts in the last 12 month (?) rule" please?

Bank of America looks at your credit report and if you have more than 3 new accounts opened in the last year (non customer) or 7 (banking customer) they will not approve it. Hope I got the number right (from memory as I am way above I didn’t pay 100% attention)

Authorized User cards

Does anyone know if AU cards count toward the 3/12, 6/12 rule?

Dividing Credit Between Two BofA Cards

I just applied for and was approved for the 60k+15k+5k offer. But I had a strange experience with my credit line.

I had a previous BofA Alaska Visa Card, which I product changed to a Cash Rewards card awhile back. Going into last week, this was the only active BofA card I had open. On Thursday, and in preparation for applying for the BofA Virgin Card, I called BofA and asked them to reduce my credit limit on the Cash Rewards card from $10k down to $7k. I have done this before with cards from other banks to free up credit for the new application. Then yesterday (Saturday), I applied for the BofA Virgin card and was approved immediately, but with a credit line of only $4800. OK, that surprised me a bit. But the real surprise was that BofA had also reduced my Cash Rewards credit limit down from $7k to only $2,200. So they have divided the $7k between the old card and the new card. That was definitely not the outcome I wanted. Anyone else have an experience like this with BofA? Did I not wait long enough between asking to reduce the credit limit on the first card and applying for the second card? I am thinking of calling them and asking them to raise the credit limit to $5k or $6k on both cards. My income level should definitely support higher limits on both cards.
