Burning points for LAX-MEX first class?

Burning points for LAX-MEX first class?
For such a short flight, it seems to be pretty steep in terms of miles/points to reward. Alaska is 60K RT, but $1200 in cash...

Should I just say forget it and but an economy ticket for $320?

Any thoughts on getting there in style, and on the cheap?

It's not a long flight. Fly economy and save those points for a longer flight. F & J really matter on long-hauls.
